Above & Below (UK) Ltd is an established dive centre with stores in Womersley and in Hull, offering a comprehensive service from diver training,
equipment sales, air supply, rental and repairs.
In April 2000, Above & Below joined the ranks of premier diving facilities and became a PADI dive centre, store #3723. Since this time the business has seen continued growth with not only the retail facilities, but also increased training to the extent of being ranked in the UK top 10%,
as a PADI 5* Instructor Development Centre. We have also received recognition awards for quality, environmental awareness and service provision. In November 2005, we were recognised in the UK Business Awards – runners up in the contribution to the community category.
Owners Martin and Sharon Ainsworth, each have their own philosophies on the diving industry, which compliments the business in a unique way.
A PADI Course Director and with over 20 years experience in the diving industry, both training and equipment servicing, Martin ensures that all diver education programmes meet the exacting requirements of today’s diving public, in addition. Sharon on the other hand, herself a Master Instructor supports the training facility, but is also a qualified ASSET Cylinder Service Technician. Holding a Masters Degree in Global Aquatic Biodiversity, Conservation and Monitoring however, her passion lies with the wildlife, so she ensures that conservation and aquatic awareness is maintained within the philosophy of the business.
Both centres aim to provide customers with a friendly and efficient service when you visit – we like to think that we are not just a retail outlet, but a place for divers to come for a coffee, a chat and to exchange information and stories with other divers, in a friendly atmosphere.
